The role is responsible for long and short term production demand forecasting, production planning and production scheduling. The Planner creates and issues production work orders to scheduled production. The Planner manage material inventory levels ordering materials to demand. Duties:

  • Developing and continuously refining annual, monthly and weekly production demand forecasts from available sales information.
  • From production demand forecasts, develop capacity and labor utilization models in support of business planning.
  • Scheduling monthly, weekly and daily production ensuring 100% product availability while optimizing labor, equipment and warehouse and freezer space utilization.
  • From production schedules, generate and issue work orders to production on time allowing for sufficient time for labor, material and equipment preparation.
  • Verify raw material availability and work-in-progress materials to meet production schedules prior to issuing work orders, while eliminating work-in-progress write-offs.
  • Ordering raw materials to demand forecast and scheduled production while maintaining optimum inventory levels.
  • Ordering approved materials from approved suppliers at the lowest delivered cost while maintaining optimum total inventory levels.
  • Developing transparent planning, scheduling and material ordering practices and systems.
  • Train and develop ERP and MRP Clerk.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and practices, following company safety and GMP rules.
  • Identify and execute special projects.
  • Develop, maintain and submit reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 Years of planning and production scheduling experience.
  • 3 Years of Material Resource Planning experience.
  • 5 Years of experience using an ERP system.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint).
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to work with others collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to teach, coach and mentor team members.
  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
