This role is responsible for monitoring and controlling the optimum conditions under which the shift production operation will be failure and defect free at optimum cost while producing scheduled production in full on time. The Production Manager leads the shift Mixing, Dough, Specialty, Assembly and Packaging production teams through Team Leaders while ensuring safety, quality and other regulatory standards are maintained at all times.


  • Leading production teams through Team Leaders while coordinating with support functions ensuring an effective and efficient production operation at all times.
  • Continuously improving production standards, practices and systems, reducing labor cost and material waste and improving quality.
  • Accountable for leading succession planning, training and development of Team Leaders and Team Members to continuously improve skill levels and competencies of teams.
  • Effectively planning, scheduling and allocating labor. Continuous communication with Planning to ensure the most effective production plan is maintained while meeting demand.
  • Observes and enforces safety rules and safe work practices. Identify and address unsafe working conditions and unsafe practices and actions to prevent accidents and safety incidents.
  • Responsible for maintaining safe and quality food by following Good Manufacturing Practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.
  • Managing work orders, communicate with scheduling and identify and in time resolve potential constraints.  
  • In collaboration with Planning, ensure the most cost effective production schedules are developed ensuring on-time delivery of quality product at all times.
  • Managing resources effectively to ensure production schedule is produced in full on time.
  • Ensures an organized, productive and quality oriented environment through education and training, communication and accountability,  identifying and following through on opportunities.
  • Report on shift performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Ensures work orders are captured accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all production and quality documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Documents to-do lists and action plans and leave a clear paper trail that others can easily follow.
  • Ensures all policies are adhered to and effectively managed.
  • Following discipline policy.
  • Identify and execute special projects to improve efficiency and overall operation.
  • Processing all departmental inventory / purchasing requisitions and forward to management for ordering.


  • 5 Years of management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to work with others collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to teach, coach, and mentor team members.
  • Food manufacturing experience.
  • Lean manufacturing and continual process improvement experience.
  • Bachelor Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management preferred
